How To Store Opened Wine
What’s the best way to store your Wine when you don’t finish off the bottle at one setting?
Once wine is opened, it begins to loose it’s taste. You can certainly save it for a few days by storing it in the refrigerator. However, how you store it also depends on the type of closure your wine bottle has. Natural corks should be stored on their sides to keep the cork moist which eases in removal from the bottle. If a cork dries out, it can break apart in the removal process giving you cork floaties in your wine. If the cork is synthetic it can stand on it’s bottom as moisture doesn’t matter for this product. Screw top closures are also very popular for wine bottles. If your bottle has a screw top, simply make sure it’s closed tightly so additional oxygenation can occur.
TIP: Before re-serving the red wine, let it sit and warm-up to room temperature a few minutes before drinking it to get the fullest flavor.
